Question : I dated a boy for two years but recently, I came to know that he is a Gay and he already have an another partner. I am feeling cheated and really confused now, what to do? Teentalker

Dear Teentalker,

Thanks for writing to us. I can really understand your stress.

Having a bisexual partner for the first time can feel daunting. In a world where bisexuality is so stigmatized and misunderstood, it’s natural that you may wonder how exactly if and how the relationship dynamic could be affected by your differing sexualities. Supporting a bi partner isn’t just about your understanding, either – it goes further than that.

It’s about helping your partner to teach others exactly what it does and doesn’t mean to be bisexual, too. Embrace him for all of who he is. Encourage him to be his most authentic self. Inspire him to explore his aspirations. And don’t let what society or anyone else has to say influence how you feel about him.

When you’re dating a bi man, you will inevitably hear someone say something biphobic or ignorant. But, stand for him and you will realize how happy it will make him to see you defend his sexual identity. Just like straight and gay men, some bi men are liars.  But if you trust him in other aspects of his life, then you should trust him with his sexual identity. Try your best to not get jealous or nervous if he checks out a cute guy on the street.

Hope this helps., if you have any other query do connect online for chat between 11am-7pm or drop us an offfline message.

Regards,

Expert Teentalk India
