I am an 18 year old, I feel I have got into this habit of always complaining and cribbing about

things, even if something is going well i still always find reasons to complain about, I feel this is just making me negative and low. Can you please suggest something to get rid of my tendency of complaining?

As we are human beings we all have a natural tendency to complain about people or situations that go against our wish. Complaining is not always bad when done effectively complaining can have a good impact on your well being. The main point is that it needs to be done in a certain way and for a specific reason . Complaining can have many reasons like emotions, mood, personality or social factors.

If you realize that complaining is becoming a habit and you are complaining about everything you need  to take steps to reduce it. Remember every time you complain you are training your mind to do it again and again, and eventually you will end up in a vicious cycle which will be difficult to break . Here we list some easy to follow tips to stop complaining.

The very 1st step is to accepting the changes without accepting the problem you cannot take steps to change it. Life is different for each one of us and all of us go through our issues in life. The sooner we make peace and accept changes we stop talking negative about the changes.

Count your blessings:  always remember to be gretful for the blessings you have. No matter how difficult the situation is you will always find reasons to be thankful in life. Make a list of reasons to be thankful every night and you will start seeing the positive things life has in store for you.

Exercise ; it is an excellent way to keep the mental and physical health fit and healthy. Practicing yoga is an excellent way to bring about inner peace and learn to control our mind and urges. Practicing yoga you will notice that you react differently to situations that might have caused you to complain earlier. 

Stop being judgemental: we should never judge people or situations because we are not sure of the reality of the situation.  Judgemental attitude will lead to expectations. And when things don’t work out according to our expectations we end up complaining. 

Keep your association positive: it’s a very well known fact that the person is known by the company he keeps. So if we associate with positive people even our energy will be high on the other hand of we associate with negative and grumpy people we will also look at the negative side of life and faults in every situation and person.
