My grades are falling and thats why my parents are very angry with me and they are not allowing to hangout with friends, reduced my technology engagement. I feel suffocated and don't want to survive.

Question: My grades are falling and thats why my parents are very angry with me and they are not allowing to hangout with friends, reduced my technology engagement. I feel suffocated, as both of them are working and I have no sibling also. I am unable to cope with academic pressure and hate to follow the mundane routine. I feel like quitting everything.  Teentalker

Dear Teentalker,

Thanks for sharing your issue. I can understand the stress in your mind.

I know things are rough for you right now, but this is not it. Your parents may not understand what you´re struggling with and you may have to educate them on depression, along with your anxiety. Sadly, it seems common that parents will resort to anger in response to not understanding what we are undergoing.

As far as acdemic stress is concerned, try to reach to your peers, teachers or join some coaching class. Talk to your teachers or School counselor who can advise your parents to allow to take some coaching.....
