I’m stressed and upset with myself as I get really anxious during exams and get sweaty and end up with bad marks.

Question: I'm really stressed and upset with myself because I procrastinate SO MUCH that I end up doing a shit job and get bad marks. But I know I can do better... but I can't bring myself to do a good job in time. When I do write my papers I get really sweaty and distracted. My parents keep yelling at me and say they are so disappointed and I feel angry but what do I do! I can't seem to change it although I want to. Please make this anxiety go away. Dear Teentalker,

I can only imagine how hard it must be for you to get yourself to get the job at hand completed. I’m going to be honest and tell you I too used to routinely procrastinate and put off work I needed to get done until the last minute. The good news is that it is not something that cannot be managed. It takes some self-management and it can be done.

The anxiety and anger you feel is more likely due to the pressure you put on yourself by the thoughts you have about the situation.

It would help if we could identify the root of your procrastin.....
