Dear Sir,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns.
Being a parent of a daughter who is currently dealing with depression can certainly come with its share of challenges. However, the first step towards healing for any person for that matter is to understand what is depression all about, really.
So let's try and understand a little more about depression: It can seem like your mind has been fractured and the feelings of sadness and hopelessness can be so strong, that you don't want to do anything. Routine tasks or small activities can seem like a big deal and even just getting through the day and finishing such small tasks might take a really long time to complete or sometimes they might just end up seeming like it is all too much to handle. In certain cases, the person might get extremely nervous and not complete any task or work at all.
At such times, it is important to lend a shoulder to cry on to your daughter and also encourage her to follow a routine, even if it seems really difficult and also encourage her to write down what she is thinking and feeling and why she feels that way. Another thing your daughter can do is to try and focus on what she has in her life (the good things), instead of constantly focusing on what she does not have.
Your daughter can also work on the tool ' The Gratitude Journal' and also know more about depression and anxiety as well as ways to deal with it by clicking on the following link: https://www.teentalkindia.com/explore/depression-anxiety
