I panic and feel anxious every time I need to make a presentation.

Question : I get anxious every time I’m asked to make a presentation in front of my class. I go blank and get breathless and start to fumble. I break into a sweat and get panic attacks. I feel the room is spinning and I’m about to faint. I feel really embarrassed and humiliated. I’ve started avoiding giving presentations or being in front of groups and don’t want to face my teachers. What’s wrong with me? Teentalker , 16-year-old

Thank you for sharing your plight. I get what you might be going through as when I was a teenager, I too feared class presentations and public speaking. This fear of speaking in front of a large group primarily arises from performance anxiety.
