Hello Teentalker,
Thank you for writing to us about your concern. I can’t begin to imagine how stressful your life must be right now for you to be feeling depressed. It is also helpful to understand what depression looks like for you as different people experience it in varied ways.
Remember, we all experience a rough phase in our life which is inevitable. But how we handle this phase also matters. To begin with, it’d be helpfulif you could sit back and reflect on what caused you to feel so stressed. Think about the triggers, your family, friends, situations, work, academics, etc and how you have been dealing with everything so far. I want to encourage you to believe that as hard as life seems right now, this is also a temporary situation. Try to keep yourself busy by indulging in a regular routine, making new friends, or joining some social clubs or hobby classes. Apart from this, start or end your day with some Meditation and deep breathing exercises that make you feel calm. Write positive affirmations at least two to three times daily to begin with and gradually increase this frequency, 'I am capable of overcoming this painful phase'. Watch your favourite movie often, try some new food, get in touch with your family/relatives. It’s always easy to give up but what counts more is how we struggle and emerge victorious from our hardships
I want to remind you that while I am here to guide you through this process of healing, you are in control of your feelings, thoughts and the progress you wish to make. Self-care is a very important seed during tough times. Pelase visit our Self-Help Tools section for further tips and tools you can use or refer the links below.
