Want to pursue my career as a researcher in Quantum Mechanics, what to do?

Question: I want to pursue my career as a researcher in Quantum Mechanics. But I think it’s not possible to do so in India since most prestigious educational institutions don't encourage the subject. Besides I am struck in chaos for what to do after my twelfth. Please suggest a way? Shiva
