2) Meritorious MBBS graduates can opt for MTech programmes in medical nano technology or nano medical sciences. In Kerala, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) offers this course. Selection is based on entrance test and interview. (Website- www.amrita.edu)
3) BARC: The Radiation Centre of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai conducts diploma courses in radiation medicine (DRM). The course equips candidates for jobs in nuclear medicine centres and the duration is 2 years. Selection is based on the basis of an entrance test.
4) Combined degree: Dr. BR Ambedkar Centre for Biomedical Research under the University of Delhi offers MSc-PhD combined degree in biomedical sciences. This is a four year full-time course and MBBS candidates with 55 percent marks are eligible for admission.
5) Prominent facilities like AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), Jawaharlal Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry; Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh as well as Christian Medical College, Vellore provide research facilities leading to PhD.
