My parents have asked me to seek career guidance so that I will take up engineering. What should I do?

Question: My parents have asked me to seek career guidance with the hope that I will finally be convinced to take up engineering and that I will come to realize that my parents are right. But I'm not interested in studying engineering and have other interests. How do I deal with this situation? Teentalker , 17-year-old

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. 

At this juncture, you seemed to have figured out what you don't want to do. Congraultations!!! That's the first step in the right direction.  However, your parents have certain dreams and expectations of you, based on their idea and understanding of what 'success' is, while you have come to formulate your own opinions based on the levels of exposure and life experiences you've had.

So, start figuring out what you're truly interested in and then work towards those goals. You can work on some of the tools su.....
