Dear Teentalker,
Thanks for reaching out
I can completely understand how terrible it must feel when you see the people from your own country see you as enemies, even when you haven’t done anything.
However, in this case, you need to understand the delicacy of the situation. Everyone across the world is troubled with the novel coronavirus. they are disappointed, enraged while being locked up indoors. Many have lost jobs, people they love, among other things.
Surely, this doesn’t give them a right to be disrespectful towards you. But you as a responsible citizen should need to understand this and deal with this in a calm manner.
Correct the people who accuse you or disrespect you in a polite manner, making them understand that you are suffering as much as they are. Make them understand the difference. If they get aggressive, immediately connect with the police and lodge a formal complaint against such discriminators.
Violence will only give rise to more violence. Dealing with this situation in a calm yet stern way is paramount. You need to be the responsible one, the logical one here.
