Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concern with us.
It is human to feel lonely at times, allow yourself to first connect with what’s behind that empty feeling, find out your triggers as to why you must be feeling this way. When it comes to going to college, it does seem despite being surrounded by a group of your friends, you are feeling like you don’t belong and this usually happens because you are not with your tribe, you don’t feel yourself with them and most of the time you feel disconnected hence below are the steps that you can take to curb your emptiness
1) Ask yourself are your friend biggest cheerleaders, do they understand and value you enough, will they be there during your darkest times?
2) If the answer is no figure out who are you as a person, what are your values, what kind of people would make you feel more alive and you can be yourself, show up as who you are
3) Remind yourself of your goal and your purpose, divert all your focus and energy on building yourself up and you will automatically attract the right kind of people who will be there for you
4)Whenever you feel disconnected from yourself. Take a pause and ask yourself if you are seeking social validation and external acceptance. And then put a hand on your heart and say that I am Enough and I love me
5)Write 5 things you are grateful for this will help you vibrate at a higher energy level
Simply remember the only person that can give you the love, acceptance, approval, and validation, support you are looking for is the person in front of the mirror. Be your own biggest cheerleader and love your own company.
